How to Order Emu Chicks
Emu chicks are hatched weekly based on how many eggs were laid that week. Emu eggs take 48-56 days to hatch with the average being 52 days. Laying season in SoCal can start as early as October and go through April.
Emu chicks will be listed on our website once DNA results come back. This takes between 1 to 2 weeks after hatching. We sell our chicks in pairs, unless special circumstances are otherwise discussed.
Pickup time frame for each batch of chicks listed will be based on the chicks being around 3 weeks old at time of pickup. If you can pick up the chick(s) in the time frame listed, then proceed to add the chick(s) to your basket and check out.
You can pay in full (which includes a $50 nonrefundable deposit) upon ordering or you can pay the nonrefundable $50 deposit that goes towards the full payment, per chick and pay the rest at pickup. Payment can be made in cash, credit or debit card, Venmo, Paypal or Zelle at pickup.
Contact us within 24 hours of placing your order to schedule your pickup day and time. Once pickup is scheduled, you will then receive an email with the chick ID number, hatch date and gender with a photo of the actual chick you are purchasing.
Make sure to get your supplies and brooder set up prior to ordering your emu chicks.
We are available 7 days a week for pickups. Your order reserves your emu chick(s). If we do not hear from you within 24 hrs. of placing your order, the emu chick(s) will be relisted and your order will be cancelled. The $50 nonrefundable deposit will not be returned. If you pay the full amount up front, you will receive a refund minus the $50 nonrefundable deposit.
Bring a large crate, box or carrier with nonslip carpet, 4-5 inches of hemp, pine shavings or a thick layer of hay when picking up your chicks.
